JetBlue Delivers Worst On-Time Record
1/6/2006
- The U.S. Transportation Department released its on-time arrival ratings for U.S. airlines this week. JetBlue has the worst on-time rating among the big airlines for flights in November 2005, with just 74.6 percent of its flights arriving on time. Northwest was second-worst, followed by Alaska Airlines. Hawaiian Airlines posted the best ranking (95.2 percent on time); in fact, Hawaiian has led this category since November 2003, when it began voluntarily reporting its numbers. Frontier was second-best, followed by America West.
In terms of canceled flights, JetBlue ironically posted an almost perfect record in this category -- canceling just two flights for the entire month of November 2005. Continental was second-best, followed by Frontier. The worst airline for canceled flights that month? Comair (a Delta subsidiary) with 2.4 percent of its flights canceled, followed by SkyWest (a Delta regional contract carrier) and Atlantic Southeast (a Delta subsidiary).
