AIRLINES: Lufthansa and JetBlue Sign a Codeshare Deal

- Lufthansa and JetBlue announced yesterday that they have signed a new codeshare deal. Pending regulatory approvals, the carriers will offer seamless connections between 12 JetBlue mainland U.S. and Puerto Rico destinations and 180 destinations served by Lufthansa starting next month.
In other news, JetBlue will discontinue three daily flights connecting San Jose and Long Beach in California.
Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air rolled out a big sale across their networks for tickets purchased by Sept. 10 for travel Sept. 14-Dec. 16 for Hawaii and Mexico and for travel through Feb. 10, 2010 for all other destinations (14-day advance purchase required; other restrictions apply).
Frontier Airlines posted a “back to school” sale on flights to more than 40 different U.S. destinations, with one-way tickets from $39 when you book by Sept. 2 for travel through Nov. 19.
