PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

THE OSSN CHAPTER
Today
OSSN has approximately 55 chapters. Most of the OSSN Chapters are in the United
States. For a listing of the Chapter locations click here: http://www.ossn.com/chapters.asp
As OSSN membership continues to grow more new chapters will also emerge. New
chapters are formed at the request of the membership. Many of our members already
know each chapter is organized by an OSSN Chapter Director. Chapter Directors
are created as a result of a local member taking the initiative and the responsibility
to organize chapter meetings. OSSN appreciates the hard work and time that our
Director's take to organize meeting for the local membership.
I would like to address how important it is for our members to help support
their local chapter meetings by attending these scheduled events. Both the Chapter
Director and the supplier or speaker has devoted time and effort to help make
your meeting a success. Part of the formula for success of the meeting is your
attended support. Without your support the chapter meeting would cease in your
area.
Several of our Chapter Director's have asked me to address the issue of members
who RSVP for these meetings and do not attend. More important some members RSVP,
decide to not attend and not call the Chapter Director to let them know of the
cancellation. This "No Show" factor is not only a discourtesy but also
creates a level of embarrassment between the sponsoring supplier or speaker for
your local Chapter Director.
OSSN Chapter Director's are always seeking out new and interesting topics for
their local members. Your input to your local Chapter Director is important and
every Chapter Director is more than willing to hear your suggestions and ideas.
Fresh ideas and topics not only makes your chapter more interesting but also helps
inspire the networking benefits that OSSN members enjoy with their peers.
Some OSSN Chapter Director's organize their meetings at restaurants while others
host their meetings at local hotel prosperities. Location is important to members
as well as what time meetings should be held. Would you prefer to attend a meeting
on a Saturday or is the middle of the week? What is best for your schedule? These
questions are important and should be addressed with your local Chapter Director.
If you live in an area that does not have a local chapter and feel that one
and are interested is starting a local chapter for your area please let me know
by e-mailing OSSN at info@ossn.com to tell us of your desire to start a new chapter
in your city. I would be happy to follow up with you as to how the local chapter
is created, supported and funded.
I hope to see our members at some time and date in the future at a Chapter
meeting as I regularly speak at our local chapters. For a list of the current
Chapter meeting schedules you may click here: http://www.ossn.com/calendar.asp
