Do wall racks filled with outdated brochures, half-empty soda cans, half-eaten sandwiches, obsolete GDS computers on every desk, suppliers' decals on every window, unopened brochure boxes in every corner, sticky notes galore, and a front door that is only open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday really define the place where today's clients want to buy their travel?

In a word, "no." Today's clients want to buy travel anytime the spirit moves them and anywhere that is convenient. That is why online travel sales continue growing. It is also why brick & mortar agencies continue closing.

Travel professionals move home and online because it is easier to satisfy their clients' anytime & anywhere demands without the constraints of a store-front location. This move also improves the bottom-line because occupancy costs (rent, utilities, maintenance, insurance, cleaning, etc.) traditionally consumed more than 10 percent of all commissions and fees.
