Dr. Felicia Mabuza-Suttle is an international award-winning entrepreneur, highly
acclaimed talk show host, sought after public speaker, author and role model.
Dr. Suttle has been appointed President, South African Tourism USA, where she
will be overseeing tourism for South Africa in America. "It is an honor to
be able to share the spirit of humanity and freedom epitomised in Nelson Mandela
and the people of South Africa with the Americans." she says.
Americans and everyone all over the world, she believes need to visit South
Africa to experience a unique awesome sensory impact of real wonder, fusion of
cultures and music they will never find anywhere in the world. In the words of
music maestro Sir Elton John, "The best place I have ever visited."
Her mission is to change misperceptions about South Africa in the international
media; to encourage investors to do business in South Africa; and, to invite tourists
to visit her beautiful country of birth.
In a recent South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) survey, she was named
among the "100 Great South Africans." Felicia was also mentioned as
one of the country's top ten most popular personalities by the Sunday Times newspaper
in a recent survey on South African brands.
She is also mentioned in numerous surveys among the country's most admired
role models with luminaries like Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, President
Thabo Mbeki and others.
Television
Felicia, as she is popularly called, is a renowned talk show host. She was
the first to start the studio audience talk show concept in South Africa in 1992.
Her talk show, The Felicia Show, was started with the aim of bringing black and
white South Africans together to talk with each other after years of apartheid
that kept them separate. Her new show, Conversations with Felicia, is about sampling
positive role models and to change misperceptions about Africa.
She is an award-winning business woman and founding member and investor in
Pamodzi Investment Holdings (Pty.) Ltd.
Education
Her dream, she says, as a girl growing up in the dusty streets of Soweto who
was deprived of a good education by the apartheid government of the time, "was
to have alphabets behind my name." Today, she holds a:
