How Tech Savvy Are You?

Computers! Everyone uses one. As soon as you master what you think is the latest in technology along comes the dreaded "upgrades", or worse a complete new software program that you are told now that you will have to learn if you want to survive in your travel business. Is there any end in sight in the world of technology that once you learn a program that is all you will ever need to know to keep your business moving ahead? I think we all know the answer to that question. No! Unfortunately or fortunately we must all come to the reality that technology is like the tide. It constantly changes. However, do we all need to keep catching that next technology waive that so many Geeks tell us if we don't, you will be certain to drown? We asked OSSN members just how tech savvy they are these days and here is what we found from 600 plus members who took the time to respond to our May 2005 survey.

60% said, yes, they do have their own website but 75% said they do not know how to write their own html code or use a a software program to write this kind of code for their website. Is this good or bad? I say good to both of these figures. Good that many members do have their own website and good that most of them are using a company that does know how to write html code. Hopefully this will allow those that don't know how to write these codes or do not use such programs called "authoring tools", will focus more time on selling and marketing their business and leave the responsibility to those companies that provide such service.
