O.S.S.N. -- What Do These Initials Mean For Your Business?
by Penney Rudicil
OSSN Eastern Regional Manager

O.S.S.N. = Outside Sales Support Network

We all know what OSSN stands for, but have you ever really stopped to think about the words? What they mean to you, and to the success of your business?

"O" = Outside. The recent demise of many brick-and-mortar agencies in the past several years is proof that clients are no longer walking in off the street to find a travel agent. Many of us have had to close the doors and move our offices to our homes or another location, making it so very important for us to get out of "our office" to greet and meet people. We need to "find" our clients -- be in the public eye, so to speak. As Scott Koepf says, "A home-based agent is a home waste agent."

Join clubs and organizations, the chamber of commerce, referral clubs -- whatever it takes in your community to meet and mingle with potential clients. Once they know you are there, your business will begin to grow. Word of mouth and referrals are the best forms of advertising!
