Selling Cruises: The Best Ships for First-Time Cruisers

Whether it's the "Love Boat" TV series (the original show from the 1970s, or the awful re-make a few years ago), the colorful commercials that show rock climbing walls on the ship or starfish dancing on the beach, or even the Royal Caribbean dancers and float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, cruising presents itself as a very popular vacation option for the American public.

Many experienced OSSN agents now have clients who really love taking cruises -- and some of them are now on their 10th or 15th or 20th sailing.

The latest statistics from the Cruise Lines International Association tell the true story, however. Almost 90 percent of U.S. travelers have never, ever taken a cruise!
