Quantity or Quality?

For years,I had a dream to work in the travel industry -- but I also wanted to be at home with my children. I began questioning and asking agencies about doing outside sales. There were very few that would even talk to me. Finally, one agency said "Yes." I could become an outside agent for them. I set up a makeshift office in a corner in the living room, ordered some business card and brochures, and I was "in business." Yeah, right!

I soon realized that I knew nothing about the travel industry and that the agency did not have the time or the desire to train me. I was on my own -- totally and completely.

I spent the next several months reading anything and everything I could about the travel industry. I attended many seminars and conferences. I enrolled in specialist courses online and read anything in print that I could get my hands on.
