Ship Inspections, Home-Based Seminars in Tampa
by Martin Deutsch

The 4th annual Tour & Cruise TravelWorld show and conference will highlight its first-ever seminar track for Home Based travel agents on Thursday, March 23 with a series of dynamic seminars and panels in Tampa, FL. This can't miss weekend, which runs through Saturday, March 25, will also feature the 2nd annual Golf & Spa Show, a dual niche that offers ever-more commission opportunities for the North American travel agent community. Produced by Travel Industry Shows (TIS), the pioneers of Home Based shows and conferences, this highly acclaimed program will partner with the travel industry's largest and first Home Based trade association, the Outside Sales Support Network (OSSN).

In a three-and-a-half hour back-to-back series of seminars and panels, Thursday afternoon from 2:45 - 6:15, travel agents will be treated to the following OSSN programs: How to Maximize Your Business Relationship with Suppliers; Host Agency vs. Going Solo (both to be hosted by John Dalton, Travel Industry Consultant); and Technology for Home Based Agents, which will be moderated by Scott Ahlsmith, CTC, Chairman of The Travel Institute and President/CEO of Magellan 360. Featured panelists will be key experts on the related subject matter.

On our première around Newfoundland the HANSEATIC follows the route of the Vikings and also the sites of natural beauty on the way to the birthplace of Canada. The seafarer Caboto, who worked for the English crown, did not find Asia, but rather a "new found land", rich in cod. And now rich in history.

Embarkation in Halifax – passage of the Canso Canal – Charlottetown/Prince Edward Island – Ingonis/Cape Breton Island – Baddeck/Cape Breton Island – Louisbourg/Nova Scotia – St. Bride’s/Newfoundland – St. Pierre/St. Pierre & Miquelon – Norris Point/Newfoundland – L’Anse aux Meadows/Newfoundland – Twillingate/Newfoundland – St. John’s/Newfoundland – disembarkation in Halifax

Do you know Newfoundland? Breathtaking pure nature!

Maritime environment at the coast with a diversified nature; on the craggy cliffs live common murres, razorbills and gannets. With luck, dolphins and whales can be watched from ashore!
Within the island flat mesas with canyons, lakes and fjords where caribous, mooses and black bears live.
Tracking excursions in spectacular landscape like the Gros Morne National Park and Zodiac trips in unspoiled nature bring guests close to this unique flora and fauna!

Want to learn more about MS HANSEATIC?
MS HANSEATIC***** – Expedition cruising in luxury
True to the Hapag-Lloyd motto – The World is Our Oyster – the HANSEATIC and her guests explore the frontiers of modern civilization. Her classification for the highest ice class, her manoeuverability and her shallow draught enable her to venture into the remote corners of this world and to discover the natural beauty of our planet - close up and personal, in expedition style.

One of the HANSEATIC's major advantages is actually her size – or rather the number of guests on board. "Travel with a small group of like-minded individuals" is a philosophy we take literally. During excursions, the HANSEATIC guests (184 at the most) explore the world's secrets in small groups of ten or twelve. Experts on board the HANSEATIC, a team of experienced scientists, expedition leaders and specialists, guide these landings and offer our guests the rare opportunity to observe fascinating plant and animal life "close up" from the ship's Zodiac dinghies.

Great emphasis is also placed on the comfort and service standards on this ship. On board the HANSEATIC, with her spacious cabins and suites and excellent cuisine, you can expect the unique combination of expedition travel and five-star luxury. Luxury takes on a whole new meaning where civilization ends, especially if you can call a 237 sq. ft. outer cabin or a 474 sq. ft. suite your home. Lavishly fitted with a marble bath, satellite telephone, TV/radio, minibar, free video/audio on demand and a private e-mail connection, the HANSEATIC offers everything for even the most discerning adventurer – even a pool, sauna, solarium, whirlpool and a gym.

The evenings are devoted to another world: a romantic twosome under the beautiful starry sky, a classical piano concert or simply stimulating exchanges with fellow travelers over a drink at the bar – on board the HANSEATIC you can enjoy inspiration and entertainment in their most personal forms.
