Selling Travel 101: How Can I Compete With AARP?

Eager to find new revenue sources, many national, state, and local nonprofit groups have latched onto travel sales in the past as an easy, pain-free way to raise funds for their activities.

Examples of this trend range from city parks and recreation department or local churches that offer day trips on motorcoaches to nearby attractions to national behemoths like AARP (with more than 30 million members!) that teamed last year with Travelocity to give seniors discounts on airline tickets, cruises, hotel stays, tours, and other travel services.

In these situations, your clients may feel caught in the middle. They've enjoyed booked with you over the years, but they feel a certain amount of pressure now to support their associations and nonprofit groups.
