I remember it like it was yesterday. But it was really about two and half years ago after starting in the Travel Business. I woke up one morning, turned on the computer in my home office, grabbed a cup of coffee and opened my emails. Then there is was… “Howdy Texas Travel Partner, You have been cordially invited to a Ship Luncheon on board the Carnival Elation in Galveston Texas.” I nearly spilled my coffee all over my keyboard. I had received my first Ship Luncheon Invitation from my local Carnival Cruise Line Business Development Director. I was so excited! After reading over the invitation I RSVPed accordingly without delay. The next several weeks until the Ship Luncheon seemed like an eternity. However, it was at that first Ship Luncheon when I had realized my first mistake. I wore a suit and tie with “brand new” dress shoes.
