Selling Travel 101: When Should You Recommend Air/Sea Programs?

When you see cruise line ads in the major travel magazines or newspapers, you've probably noticed that some companies heavily promote the idea of passengers buying their air transportation and the cruise itself as a package deal. The promise is that they'll save a great deal of money and irritation by booking the entire trip -- from the airline ticket to the cruise -- all at once.

As usual, there's more to the story than that. Sometimes, "air/sea programs" make perfect sense, but you can also get tangled in hidden fees and rules that make the airline ticket-cruise fare combination a bad deal. Remember these points as you walk your clients through the pros and cons:
