What is YOUR Power Supply?
by Penney Rudicil, ECC
Recently,
I was on a cruise and attended an enrichment lecture titled "Getting
Recharged." The lecturer started out by telling us who he was, about
his credentials, why he was on the ship and what he was going to
talk to us about. Pretty straightforward, "blah, blah, blah" stuff.
Then, he said, "What happens when you talk on your cell phone too
long or use your laptop for long periods of time? You need to plug
them in to recharge the battery, right? Now, these things will work
when you have a low battery, but not very well, and not to the optimal
performance -- and neither do we."
I was not sure where we were going, but he piqued my
interest and, being a polite person (and sitting near the front!),
I didn't want to walk out -- so I continued to listen. The speaker
then went on to explain that people are much the same way -- that
we too can be drained by people, places and things. For the
next 45 minutes, I sat there nodding my head and thinking how much
sense this was making.
