Can This Trip Be Saved: Things Are Missing From My Luggage!

Question: After spending two weeks on a wonderful trip to Australia and New Zealand, my wife and I returned home from the airport today to make a shocking discovery. We're missing almost $800 in belongings that were packed inside our checked suitcases!

What's gone are several gifts of clothing that we'd brought home for our grandchildren, as well as our digital videocamera.

Where should we file a claim for our missing items -- and what's the likelihood that we'll recover them (or be paid for our losses)?
