OSSN’s China Conference
article continued from
Five months earlier, you can travel with OSSN for an amazing introduction
to this great country during the International Spring Conference!
For more than 5,000 years, China has drawn explorers and travelers to its
lands. You’ll feel this history as we explore this country’s heritage treasures
and modern sights.
This OSSN conference will begin on March 19, as agents depart U.S. gateways
on their flights to Beijing. Upon your arrival the next day, you’ll transfer
to the five-star Capital Hotel for a relaxing evening on your own.
On March 21, you’ll visit Tiananmen Square (the largest public square
in the world) that serves as the front door to the Forbidden City. You’ll tour
the Palace Museum (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and, after lunch, the Temple
of Heaven before adjourning to prepare for a special welcome banquet hosted
by China’s national tourism office.
The next day, you’ll attend a half-day conference with workshops offered
by China Travel Service. Lunch will be followed by a pedicab tour of Beijing’s “old
city” neighborhoods (with stops to visit local families). The day ends with a
special “Gong Fu” show featuring the Tian Chuang Performing Art Company.
March 23 will take you to the Great Wall of China at Juyongguan and
to the Summer Palace on Kunming Lake. Then, the Beijing Tourism Office
will host the farewell dinner for the main conference.
You can extend your trip March 24-28 with an add-on excursion to Xi’an (famed
for its terra cotta warriors and horses, among other sights) and Shanghai (the “Paris
of the Orient”).
OSSN is proud to bring you extremely favorable rates for this conference!
Members can register for the main conference (six days) and international airfare
roundtrip from SFO or LAX for $949 (non-members add $100). The land-only rates
are $799 and $899 respectively. The air/land packages include international roundtrip
airfare aboard United Airlines, five-star lodging with American breakfasts, all
meals as outlined in the itinerary, transfers, sightseeing tours, evening dinner
shows in the itinerary, and English-speaking local guide service.
The primary U.S. gateways are LAX and SFO, but you can choose any of these
additional departure cities for no additional charge: BUR, ONT, PDX, SEA, SJC,
or SNA. Many other “add-on” gateways around the United States cost only $100
to $140 extra. (Note that international air taxes of $330 are not included in
the above rates.)
The optional five-day/four-night extension to Xi’an and Shanghai is $799 (air/land)
for OSSN members and $899 for non-members. This trip includes two domestic flights
in China (with all taxes paid), four- and five-star lodging with American breakfasts,
meals as outlined in the itinerary, transfers, sightseeing tours, evening dinner
show in the itinerary, and English-speaking local guide service.
U.S. and Canadian citizens must secure a visa for travel in China. You can
download the form at www.chinatravelservice.com,
or you may use another visa service if you wish. You will need a passport that
is valid for at least six months from the date of departure, and the passport
must contain at least two blank visa pages (amendment pages and pages displaying
bar codes do not count). The visa processing fee through China Travel Service
is $130.
