The expanding importance of the home-based travel agent in this industry's distribution system was once again brought into sharp focus during a recent interview with Jill Hanlon-Bosso, home-based channel manager for Royal Caribbean International, shortly after the Original Home Based Agent Show & Conference in Atlantic City in late October.
Describing this event as "fantastic," Hanlon-Bosso says the Technology Forum (chiefly sponsored by Royal Caribbean) was filled wall-to-wall with quality home-based agents who were there to learn and who were dedicated to proving that the home-based phenomenon was no passing fad.
