Refer Them to the Internet First!

Three weeks ago, a home-based agent told me how she encouraged her clients to go to the Internet to start researching their vacations. She even went so far as to tell prospects she normally charged a $50 service fee for vacation planning, but if they did their preliminary work on the Internet and brought her a basic itinerary, she would waive that fee.
This is an interesting concept -- one that will shock most home-based travel professionals -- but her reasoning is sound, and you may want to try it.
