When Chris Woolson began working as an outside sales agent, he got a quick introduction to one of the toughest problems in the travel business: tracking and collecting commissions due from suppliers.
”I would wait weeks after the travel date to receive my commission,” says Woolson, a Philadelphia-based OSSN agent. “Not only was the agency owner not matching the checks with our manually submitted commission reports, but we were finding some tour operators not sending the checks in a timely manner and sometimes not at all -- [they’d say] ‘for some reason the system did not send that out.’”
