Tricks of the Trade

Over the years, I have learned many of the tricks of the trade – but I’m not talking about those that guide you on how to set up your business, what equipment to use, etc. The tricks that I am talking about are some of the tactics that many clever suppliers and hoteliers use to capture your client’s contact information from you and then market future promotions directly to the client.

I first figured this out by once making a mistake while booking a major Las Vegas hotel for a client. While being distracted with another call coming in, and not paying too much attention, I inadvertently gave the hotel my agency’s address instead of my client’s. The credit card went through without a hitch.
