In late 2007 and early 2008, the U.S. dollar dipped to near-record lows against the euro. In fact, the dollar hit an all-time low last month, falling to $1.50 against the euro for the very first time (it's dropped 40 percent compared to the euro since 2001).
As a result, the plans of many North American travelers eager for European vacations this year have also taken a dive. Fluctuating exchange levels always make planning an overseas getaway interesting. This time, though, the dollar's plunge relative to the euro, the British pound, and other European currencies means your U.S. clients could easily spend hundreds of dollars more than they had budgeted if they travel to the Continent this year.
