Destination weddings continue to explode as a major travel industry. In its 2008 survey, TheKnot.com reported that (based on a nationwide poll of more than 22,000 respondents - the largest survey of its kind) about one in 10 couples will plan a true destination wedding. That's defined as a ceremony that's conducted at least 200 miles away from where the bride and groom live, with at least 80 percent of the attendees requiring overnight accommodations.
