No longer just a three hour tour providing sightseeing at a port of call, today’s cruise shore excursions provide entertainment, excitement, and adventure, as well as local cultural experiences. Even better? Many cruise lines now have a special department where they can customize shore excursions for your group.

What does this mean to you? First, it’s a way to offer a specialization - a unique, exclusive experience for your groups. Second, you can also leverage this as a way to increase profits. Some cruise lines do pay commissions on customized shore excursions, while others set a net rate on the customized excursion, so the agent can actually tack on a commission.
