My Dubai Report

With a vista of skyscrappers and out-of-this-world hotels, it is hard to imagine that little more than 50 years ago Dubai’s desert skyline was vastly undiscovered. One of my misconceptions about Dubai, the dazzling "City of Merchants," which was quickly dismissed, was that it could be compared to Las Vegas. Dubai doesn't have any casinos or dancing girls, and you won't find any liquor stores around! They serve liquor in restaurants, but not in hotel lobbies. I felt very safe walking around the streets everywhere I went. People were very helpful and friendly. It is a very international country representing many nationalities. They have less than a .05% crime rate. There are more than 1500 mosques, a few Christian churches, and NO synagogues. You cannot enter Dubai with a Jewish passport. If you are American and are Jewish, that's OK, but don't advertise the fact.
