Cruise Lines Give Back

The devastation from the tragic earthquake in Haiti on Jan. 6 once again brought to mind how an unexpected tragedy can not only pull people together but also prompt them to give back.
Cruise lines immediately jumped in to provide assistance, donating and pledging millions of dollars. Many also have programs in place onboard their ships for guests to make donations as well. Tragedies do surface as well as ongoing needs for charitable help, and this recent tragedy demonstrates just one of many examples of how over the years cruise lines "step up." When it comes to their philanthropic efforts, cruise lines help in a variety of ways, including volunteer service efforts by their own employees in local and national charities and foundations.
