Introduction to OSSN

OSSN is the Premier International Travel Association for Independent Contractors, Outside Sales Travel Agents, Home Based Travel Agencies and Host Agencies that contract with Independent Contractors. OSSN was founded in 1990 by 28-year industry veteran, Gary M. Fee, President of OSSN. Current membership is approximately 5800. The majority of members are affiliated with CLIA or IATAN agencies and are focused on promoting leisure destinations, with a major interest in promoting groups and incentives. A New System and a Changed Industry

Today many OSSN members now have their own TRUE ID code issued by IATA (see page www.ossn.com/true_registration.asp). TRUE (Travel Retailer Universal Enumeration) System's sole purpose is to help provide sellers of travel with the assignment of travel industry numeric codes that are recognized by the travel supplier community, including cruise lines, tour operators, hoteliers, and car rental companies.

Suppliers can now validate the validity of any TRUE Code issued IATA by visiting this IATA/IATAN Website: www.checkacode.com.

The recognition of this universal numeric code by travel suppliers will allow the travel agent or agency the privilege of booking travel products and services directly with thousands of travel industry suppliers. This numeric identification code eliminates the need to establish multiple pseudo ID numbers with individual suppliers and Global Distribution System (GDS) providers.

Global Source Product Information

Global Source is a database of over 110,000 travel industry sales outlets worldwide, all contained on a single CD-ROM with a fast and user-friendly interface. It provides you with access to the information you need with just the click of a button. With Global Source, you can sort and display agency information using a variety of criteria, such as:

Agency name and trading name
IATA code number
Location and mailing address
Status of the agency
Location type
Language of business and more

Results can be viewed on screen, printed in a number of pre-formatted report styles or exported to other applications.

Global Source can be used to verify IATA Code Numbers or create exports of data to validate commission payouts.
